The Brewers got it done again today and they did it against a tough Reds team. The win puts them at 30-25 and that’s just two losses back of the first place Cardinals. They’ve also won eight of their ten to do it so hopefully the Brewers can continue to get it done and move into first place.
Zach Greinke improved to 4-1 on the season and he’s paying dividends despite his 5.29 ERA. HE gave up two runs on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts in six innings. Three relievers combined to throw three shutout innings. One of those, John Axford, struck out the side in the ninth.
Corey Hart had a big day at the plate. He went two for four with a home run and four RBIs. Rickie Weeks also had a nice game and he went two for three with a run and an RBI.
Tonight, it’s Shaun Marcum against Mike Leake. Let’s hope the Brewers can keep it going here.
